Thank you for choosing Billee Eames . Makeup Artist for your special day!
Preparing your Skin
Skin works best when you start from the inside. The more we invest in our skin with healthy foods and lots of water, the better our skin will look on the outside. Remember it is not an overnight process. Good skin is something you work at, and invest in.
An anti-aging tip is to wash your face at the end of the day with a cleanser before you go to bed and moisturise. Your skin does its best repair and rejuvenation over-night and makeup and impurities accumulated through the day can prevent this natural process for your skin and clog your pores. In addition, your skin absorbs what you put on it and some makeup brands can use harsh ingredients.
Always moisturise your skin (with products that match your skin type). Moisturising your skin keeps it hydrated which can reduce the look of aging and wrinkles. A good eye cream is a benefit too. Even oily skin should be moisturised.
Drinking water is the cheapest not-so-secret ingredient to beautiful skin. The winter months can be difficult so try warm boiled water and adding a slice of citrus. Summer is a bit easier as our bodies naturally want to replace what is lost through perspiration. If water is not your favourite, try sipping water adding dark berries, citrus or mint for low calorie flavour. Alcohol, drugs, smoking, sugar, tea and coffee can contribute to breakouts and unhealthy, dehydrated skin. Makeup can only do so much.
Some great skin-boosting foods include: sweet potato, pumpkin seeds, salmon, cooked tomatoes, spinach, green tea (caffeine free), flaxseeds, chocolate (of the dark variety and not too much!), almonds, carrots, blueberries. All in moderation and with a balanced healthy lifestyle diet.
Don’t forget your sunscreen! Face and body – rain, hale or shine!
Before your Makeup Service
It is recommended that you do not change skin care products (cleanser, toner, moisturiser) just prior to your special day. Dramatic changes can cause skin irritations and possible allergic reactions. Please advise if you or anyone on your makeup service booking are prone to irritations or allergic reactions.
Please cleanse and moisturise your skin prior to makeup service with products you know your skin is comfortable with. If you have a favourite can’t-live-without product that you and your skin love, bring it with you on the day of your makeup service.
Any skin exfoliation, waxing or beauty treatments need to be done a minimum of four days before your makeup service. Please continue to use products you know your skin does not react to and ensure you liaise with a trusted and trained beautician for your skin care regime or particularly where you are making changes to your skin care. It is important that you do not do any last minute, never-before-used beauty treatments just prior to your special day.
Looking forward to spoiling you!
